This Saturday our annual garage sale will be held in Folsom in conjunction with the Broadstone community garage sale. Our flyer is below so come on out and see what treasures you can't pass up.
The garage sale is one of our fundraisers that support our service grants to the community. All proceeds will be given back to the community. Any items not sold by the end of the day will be donated to Snoline Hospice.
Please come out and visit with us. We will also have refreshments for sale and these funds will also go into the service funds.
On March 25, 2014 our annual March On for Community Service event was held. At this event we invite the organizations who were chosen to receive service grants for projects they requested assistance for.
The organizations receiving service grants were:
People Reaching Out
River Oak Center for Children
We also invited a representative from Wind Youth Services to present them with 50 comfort kits that club members made. This included toiletries and sundry items for homeless youth that use their facility.
The annual Crab and Pasta Feed was held on February 7, 2014 by our club in partnership with the Sacramento Suburban Kiwanis. The hall was filled to capacity with close to 600 hungry customers. Again this year, the key club youth from 3 local high schools volunteered by serving food and helping with the raffle.
On the evening of Tuesday, March 12, 2013 the women of Soroptimist International of Sacramento North hosted a dinner for the winners of our Community Service Awards. We call the evening "March On for Service" and we enjoy handing out the grants but also hearing from the agencies and what they will be doing with the grant they are receiving.
