Welcome to the website for Soroptimist International of Sacramento North. Soroptimist is an international women’s organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 95,000 Soroptimists in over 100 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects that benefit women and girls. Soroptimist International of Sacramento North was chartered in April of 1954. We hold regular meetings on the first three Tuesdays at noon. Our meetings are held in the Club room at Atria El Camino Gardens on the corner of El Camino and Garfield Ave. in Carmichael. Please contact us in advance of attending a meeting just in case it is not held at Atria.

On the evening of Tuesday, March 12, 2013 the women of Soroptimist International of Sacramento North hosted a dinner for the winners of our Community Service Awards. We call the evening "March On for Service" and we enjoy handing out the grants but also hearing from the agencies and what they will be doing with the grant they are receiving.
Our next movie night will be held at the Guild Theater on Saturday, May 4, 2013. We had such a great time at our last movie and we've got some fun & different things planned for this one.
We will be showing My Big Fat Greek Wedding and part of the proceeds for this event will be going to Wellspring Womens Center as well as other community service projects in our local area.
Wind Youth Services - Sacramento
Our speaker today was Lisa Campodonico, Development Director for Wind Youth Services. She shared with us some of the services that they offer the homeless youth in Sacramento. There were some pretty scary statistics given but she also let us know about their many successes.
The club members made up comfort kits to be given to young girls who end up in their program. They are filled with toiletries, a pair of gloves, panties and other items to make their stay with Wind a little easier.
